Character Race
Five races are offered to the Dark Swords players while creating the character. Each race has its own advantages and disadvantages. You can view detailed information on each race in - Character: Races
Name and Appearance
The first thing that other people get to know about the character is the name and appearance chosen at the beginning. The player gets the possibility to choose the appearance of the character from a great variety of portraits which emphasize character certain qualities. It's a common practice that appearance and name have to have similar meaning for a greater character personification. The preliminary plan of character development is the factor in appearance choice - his career, game style and personal preferences are not the least of the factors.
It's necessary to remember that any hints of obscenity and rudeness in character names are a direct violation of strictly considered rules.
Characteristics
The initial characteristics chosen at the beginning are of a great importance on the game first stage. The 4 basic characteristics are: Strength, Constitution, Dexterity and Intelligence. Those characteristics define the set of parameters which have an influence on character either actions efficiency. You can view detailed information in Character: Parameters
The initial value of any character characteristic can't be lower than 8 points; when creating a character player gets a chance to add 8 points to any characteristic at his discretion.
Remember! Once chosen initial characteristics values can't be changed in future.
Weapon Choice
There is a great variety of weapons in the Dark Swords world – swords, axes, spears, mace, knifes and staffs. Each kind of the weapon has certain advantages and disadvantages. You can get acquainted to every type of it and choose the most suitable for you in Items: Weapon types
World geography
There are 2 kingdoms on the territory of the Tharasos continent: the Rainbow Kingdom with its capital in Seastone and the Enigmatic Kingdom with the capital - Arkijah. To the south-east from the Rainbow Kingdom lie Boundary Realm ancient bastions. The biggest one is Ruby Fort. You can view certain regions on the world map.
Starting the Game
Entering Dark Swords is accomplished by using the client application available for download on site. You can get acquainted with the client preferential version and create a character by simply clicking on "Start the game" After creating a character and choosing the original city you can star the game immediately.
Upon entering the game for the first time the character finds itself in the central point of the hometown - location «Stairways to Heaven». With this, character is equipped with a Training set of armour, gets the start minimum amount of healing condiments. Character position is saved upon exiting the game - it will reappear in the game in the location which it exited from last time.
Exiting the game is accomplished simply by closing the client application window. The character data update goes on constantly in real time, however it should be remembered that upon exiting the game the character stays in the gaming world for 5-7 more minutes, that's why it's important to choose safe place, for example shop locations, guilds or «Stairways to Heaven» to logout. |
